Potentate’s Notes March 2024

Greetings Nobles,

I would like to start off by saying thank you to Alan Newman for getting a Walleye jersey signed by the players to raffle off at the hockey game. We look forward to seeing everyone who was at the Walleye game to also join us for the Mud Hens game on Friday, July 26. Save the date, details will be coming in the next few months.

Again Nobles, I am working hard in trying to arrange a dual ceremonial with the Valley of the Firelands, and am looking to build membership. If anyone is looking at learning more about Shrines and Freemasonry, please contact myself or Steve Hessler and we can organize a Friendship Night at a place to be determined. We are currently at 922 members and have had one additional member join. I would love to see our membership grow to 950 or more this year. The more you put into our organization the more you get out of it.

All need to get the word out about our upcoming Circus, March 14 to 17. Ticket sales are low and we need to sell them to make this a profitable event. We also need volunteers to help with the event to make it successful. You do not have to commit to a specific show, but if you get some free time, please come down and we will give you something to do. As a reminder, there are multiple events going at the same time as the Circus, so please take advantage of our free parking at the old temple with free shuttle service.

Also, do not forget to bring your kids, grandkids, neighbors and friends to our Children’s Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 24 (see flyer for info). This is always a great event for the children.

It was good to see all the ladies attend the stated meeting night for cookie decorating. They were still decorating at the end of our meeting and all had a great time!!

Again, your Divan is traveling to all Grand Master’s Receptions. We are here working for you as the Grand Line thinks it is great that we support all the local districts within our footprint. This was all started by Most Worshipful Charles R. Murphy.

Please come and support Zenobia for the Ohio Shrine Association on Saturday, April 27. Unfortunately, I will not be able to be there due to a previous engagement. Doors open at 8:30 for coffee and donuts, as well as lunch will be served. Registration is required to plan for food. Please support your Ohio Shrine President, Illustrious Sir Body Durain.

I also would aso like to thank the Patrol Unit for starting the Euchre Party Nights. They are a good time and great for social gathering. Feel free to come out and check it out if you have not already.

On Saturday, April 13, we are having our annual Meat Feztival. This is always a high energy event that is over in approximately two hours. This is a great way to help fill your freezer of meat at a reasonable price. Bring you coolers to store your winnings that day and be ready to have a blast with your running shoes on. We may also plan on having a bonfire after this event, if the weather permits.

Last, but not least, tickets are on sale for the Sportsmen’s Extravaganza and after the Circus we will start selling tables for the side raffles.
