Potentate’s Notes April 2024

Greetings Nobles,

It is hard to believe we are already four months into my second year. It seems to be going faster even than last year. I want to apologize to the Nobles who had birthdays the last couple of months, as we had to turn off the “Happy Birthday” call due to issues that had to be repaired. We are working with WebFez to correct the issue. If you have any questions, please call me.

We have a Ceremonial scheduled for May 11, that will be moved to Saturday, July 27, to have a joint Ceremonial with the Valley of Firelands in Findlay. This should be a larger ceremonial and is expected to bring in many members.

On Sunday, April 14, we are having a clean-up day at the Shrine to mulch, trim, pull weeds and beautify Zenobia for the Ohio Shrine Association meeting that will be here. We will be starting at 10 a.m. Please feel free to come out and help; the more the merrier.
Nobles, your recorder and business manager, John Mann, is retiring due to health reasons. If you know of anyone or would like to apply for the position, please get a copy of your resume to the temple – Attn: to Potentate. I am looking to replace him in the next couple of months, as he is retiring in September. I also am working with the Divan to replace the treasurer, David Coy. We are currently working on a few leads at this time.

I would like to thank everyone that advertises in the Masonic Bulletin for being patient. We are close to ensuring that all is brought up to current trends. At this time, I would like to welcome Kailee Weiker, as the treasurer, for the Masonic Bulletin, who will ensure timely management of accounts.

If you would like to order onions to sell/buy, there is a yellow form that needs to be filled out and turned into the office and/or to Kevin Ridgeway. The nobility voted to continue to buy 10 pound bags at the February stated meeting.

In the next few months, please focus on selling your plaques for the tabloid fund, as we are not printing a new tabloid this year. We still have MANY left over from last year and it is not required from Imperial to do this project.

The Children’s Easter Egg Hunt was a great success, as always. Thank you to Scott and Tiffany Harder for organizing this event. A great time was had by all. Thank you to Illustrious Sir Boyd Durain for his first year as circus chairman. Another thank you to all the Nobles, wives, family and friends who helped volunteer at the circus this year.

Please do NOT forget to be at our April stated meeting, as we will vote on Zenobia’s portion of annual dues to be raised another $20. The total annual renewal will then become $165 ($110 to Zenobia, $50 to Imperial and $5 to the hospitals). If you have any questions, please reach out to myself or Dave Coy.
