Potentate’s Notes Summer 2026

Greetings Nobles,

As I am writing, we are still in May, and the weather is up and down. Hopefully, as June approaches, we will get our warmer weather so we can get outside and enjoy our summer. Onions came in and went out just as quickly. Thank you for everyone who sold and bought them. A big thank you to Ill. Sir Kevin Ridgeway for chairing the onions this year and doing a fantastic job.

Next up, we had Dueling Pianos with T Rich. As always, I would like to thank everyone who came and everyone who helped make this event a success. It was a very fun night with everyone having a great time. T & Rich did an amazing job and kept everyone entertained.

We had our Spring Ceremonial on May 23. We had at least nine new members come in. The Dramatic Cast did an amazing job, as usual. Thank you to the Pit Masters for a great meal to welcome our new Nobles and their Ladies. Our Ceremonial Master had some live entertainment to close out the night. Congratulations to our new Nobles!

To close out May, I had the Potentate’s Parade in my hometown of Maumee. I had the pleasure of riding in one of our old Covairs. I would like to thank the Patrol, Jeepsters, Clowns, Tiffin Hornet, Hillbillies and the Water Buffalo for participating. A big Thank You to the Patrol for the afterglow at the Maumee Elks.

We don’t have much going on during June. I will try to put together a Mud Hens night. It will be a block of tickets at normal ticket prices. You can buy the food you want and your drink(s) of choice. Your Divan and Past Potentates are preparing our caravan to head down to Tampa for Imperial Session in July. The youth picnic will be at the end of July.

The next big event will be the Zenobia golf outing in memory of John Hoffman on Saturday, August 1. If you are interested in playing, being a sponsor, donating or helping, please contact Robin Hoffman at 419-360-6205. Also, the Sportsmen’s Extravaganza will be Saturday, October 3, at the Lucas County Rec Center. You can buy tickets through the office, and you also can sign them out there as well. Help make these events successful. This is for your Shrine. The more Nobles who get involved, the better we are.
